ISESCO recommends to benefit from “ASAN service” model

The delegation of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan attended the 13th session of the ISESCO General Conference held in Rabat.

Our country participated in the session as the chairman of the 12th General Conference of the Organization.

Speaking at the event, Azad Jafarli, Head of Apparatus of the State Agency, emphasized the high-level cooperation between Azerbaijan and ISESCO and gave an information about the reforms, directed to the improvement and modernization of public administration in recent years by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Ilham Aliyev, as well as the establishment, goals and directions of the "ASAN service" centers, which are an integral part of these reforms.

It was emphasized that "ASAN service" was awarded the UN Public Services Award in 2015 and acted as the most successful solution to system of governance in the relevant fields, including science, culture and education.

The importance of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the State Agency and ISESCO was discussed. The event participants were also informed that the State Agency is ready to cooperate on application of the "ASAN service" model in order to further improve the area of rendering public services in the member states.

ISESCO's Action Plan and Budget for 2019-2021 and Medium-term Strategic Action Plan for 2019-2027 were also discussed and adopted during the session.

For the development of sectoral governance mechanism in member countries within the ISESCO's 2019-2021 Action Plan it was also recommended to benefit from “ASAN service” model, which is the best practice in Azerbaijan in the field of public administration.

Within the visit, a meeting was held with Najat Zarrouk, Director of United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLG-Africa) and African Local Government Academy (ALGA). During the meeting, discussions were held on realization of joint initiatives within the framework of implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the State Agency and the United Cities and Local Governments of Africa on June of this year.
