Delegation of “ASAN service” continues to attend the United Nations Public Service Forum

The delegation headed by the Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Ulvi Mehdiyev continues to attend the United Nations Public Service Forum.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United Cities and Local Governments of Africa. The purpose of the Memorandum is to strengthen human resources in order to provide high-quality services in African cities and local governments, as well as organize local government bodies in a more perfect form based on “ASAN service” experience in public service delivery.

The delegation held discussions on future cooperation, as well as meetings discussing joint activities in specific projects with the Chief Secretary of United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLG-Africa), Jan Pier Elonq Mbassi, Montenegrin Minister of Public Administration, Suzana Pribilovic, Uganda’s Minister of Public Service, Wilson Muruli Mukasa, and Chief of the Governance and Public Administration Branch of the Division for Public Administration and Development Management at the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, John-Mary Kauzya.

“ASAN service” was presented at the panel organized by UCLG Africa on "It’s time to act: which activities, which tools, which ways". With examples of transparency implication and combating corruption, as well as providing efficient public services, the experience of “ASAN service” as a unique mechanism in the context of advanced governance principles was emphasized at the presentation. At the panel continued with interactive talks, African delegates expressed opinions and commentaries on the benefits and necessity of “ASAN service’s” experience and implication in different parts of the world, particularly in Africa.

The Forum came to conclusion with the ceremony of awarding the winners with the UN Public Services Award.
