Delegation of “ASAN service” attends the United Nations Public Service Forum

The delegation headed by the Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ulvi Mehdiyev, is on a visit to the Kingdom of Morocco to attend the United Nations Public Service Forum.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Administrative Reforms and Civil Service of the Kingdom of Morocco. The purpose of the Memorandum of Understanding is to create a legal framework for cooperation and exchange on the basis of experience of Azerbaijan "ASAN service" in order to reform and improve public sector, improve management skills and develop electronic governance.

At the same time, “ASAN service” was presented at the session on "Changing leadership skills and the way of thinking to achieve Sustainable Development Goals".  ASAN's experience and its application were met with interest by the participants of the session.

The delegation presented the reforms, directed to the improvement and modernization of public administration in recent years by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Ilham Aliyev, as well as the establishment, goals and directions of the "ASAN service" centers, which are an integral part of these reforms.

During the visit, the delegation met with the State Minister for Craftsmanship and Social and Economic Affairs, Jamila Al-Musalli. During the meeting there was held discussions in the field of activities of “ABAD” centers (Acronym stands for Facilitated Support to Family Business), which is established to support the development of small and medium businesses in our country and the formation of competitive households.

Furthermore, the sides agreed to exchange experiences in the discussed fields. It was proposed to accelerate the procedures for signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the relevant government agencies.

On the first day of the forum, the delegation also met with Morocco's Minister of Administrative Reforms and Civil Service, Mohammed Ben Abdelkader and Deputy Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reforms in Indonesia, Diah Natalisa, and discussed a wide range of cooperation prospects.

It should be noted that “ASAN service” received 1st place at United Nations Public Service Award 2015.

The delegation continues to attend the Forum.
